Do you have a South Fork Flambeau River story to tell?
If the ghosts of the South Fork Flambeau River corridor could talk, they would spin stories about ancestral dwelling places, early trade, leisurely Sundays of fishing and picnics, changing landscapes and habitats and, regrettably, exploitation.
Today, we are the memory makers. New chapters will tell of special family gatherings, the big one that got away, and harrowing trips through our favorite rapids.
Underlying all is the ecological footprint we leave behind. That is what the South Fork Flambeau River Watershed Association is all about. Like our ancestors, we have the privilege of using and enjoying the river. Unlike our forbearers, we must use our knowledge and awareness of river ecology to more effectively preserve it for future generations.
If you have a river story or memory that you would like to share, please write to us at SFFRWA, PO Box 344, Park Falls, WI 54552.
